Jason Hyatt: End of Season Messge

Posted by Aberavon RFC on 20/05/2018

We now draw a line under the 2017/18 season.

Our first session of the season was on the 4th July 2017 and everyone involved has been working very hard for fourty-six consecutive weeks.

I would like to thank everyone involved for their outstanding contribution, as Lee Purnell so accurately explained while speaking at our awards night.

“playing Semi-pro rugby to the standard we desire demands a tremendous amount of sacrifice."

I would therefore like to thank the wives, partners and families of everyone involved for their support and encouragement. This support structure often goes unnoticed but it is certainly one of the most important foundations that underpins our environment.

We now look forward to some recuperation before we start our preparation for the 2018/19 season on Monday 25th June with our annual check in meeting. We will then commence training the following day where we will welcome our new Wizards into the team.

A lot of debate has taken place regarding the format of the season ahead but we must focus on controlling the controllable's, and that means using every second available to prepare thoroughly as a team and also as individuals.

May I take this opportunity to thank Andrew, Mair, Nia and Katie along with the whole family for the endless amount of work they put into Aberavon RFC - without this attention to detail Aberavon would simply not be the club that it is.

On behalf of the whole team I would like to thank our supporters for the outstanding support we receive continually, it still gives me goose bumps when the 'Avon' chant rings around the stand.A special mention to Don, its great to see you making a full recovery and we look forward to seeing you during pre season.
