The Wizards have obtained the services of Lloyd Evans.
Evans was born in Bridgend and is just 28 years old. He is an ex Brynteg Comprehensive School pupil and Bridgend Athletic player.
We asked Lloyd what he would like to achieve when at Aberavon RFC.
“Quite simply, I would like to help the team win the cup and league.
Lloyd joins a strong back-row with Purnell, Morgan, Waite, Evans, Tomalin-Reeves and Joseph. However, he will bolster the squad with his acquired skill set. It can only bring great competition for places for the team.
Aberavon have signed Lloyd from Ebbw Vale although he did appear for Neath last season.
He scored two Premiership tries with Neath before joining Ebbw Vale and scored 11 more Premiership tries. He is an ex-Ospreys Academy product playing 12 games for the senior team and has previously played for Bridgend 41 Tims and scoring 11 tries.
Wales Sevens has been a massive part of Lloyds career as he has spent over five-years playing on the International circuit. But there is something very special about Lloyd and Aberavon RFC.
“My Bampa use to play and be a huge supporter of Aberavon and his ashes are scattered on the pitch, so it really is extra special playing for the club,” added Lloyd.
He is super excited to link up with old Wales Sevens team mate Stef Andrews.
It certainly is exciting to be able to see Lloyd in a Blood and Black shirt next season.
