MEMBERS MEETING

We would like to invite all season ticket holders to a meeting at Aberavon RFC next Monday evening (6/11) at 6.30pm to consider the club’s application for next season’s well documented new league structure.

This will give all members an opportunity to hear the views of the club’s trustees and management and to discuss the current situation.

The Return of the Tata Steel Wizards League

Hundreds of Port Talbot children will now represent their school rugby and netball teams with pride following a donation of sports kit by steel giant Tata Steel.

Aberavon Ruby Club and Tata Steel have been working together for 10-years to create and develop opportunities for children in Port Talbot to become more physically active.

During the 10-year period both organisations created an initiative called the ‘Tata Steel Wizards League”.

The initiative was created to provide children with the opportunity to play both competitive rugby and netball in term time.

Following the COVID-19 pandemic, the Tata Steel Wizards League is back, and back with a new donation of kit for all Port Talbot Primary Schools.

Andrew V John, Aberavon Chairman commented.

“We are extremely grateful to Tata Steel for their backing of the programme for all the local Primary Schools. It has been possible with their support to provide the schools with new playing kit for both rugby and netball but also it enables us to deliver the Tata Steel Wizards League once again.

So, many thanks on behalf of Aberavon RFC and all the Port Talbot Primary Schools for Tata Steel’s support.”

A Tata Steel representative added.

“As a business we’re delighted to once again be partnering with Aberavon RFC on this scheme – which provides a great opportunity for young people across Neath Port Talbot to get involved in rugby and netball, encouraging healthy and active lifestyles. “Thank you to Aberavon for all of their efforts in organising the league. We’re excited to get under way and wish all of the schools and children participating the best of luck.”

The first block of fixtures in the Tata Steel Wizards League will be played on Thursday 12th October, 2023.

Nutriade contains high levels of branched-chain amino acids (BCAAs) critical for muscle building and recovery, making Nutriade a highly effective and complete protein source to help you exceed your limits.

Iwan from Nutriade added.

“At Nutriade, we want to support and help Welsh teams develop with their nutritional requirements.

Also, this is an additional way to showcase our product and the benefits of protein water to the rugby community.”

A product that is vigorously tested to be able to be consumed by athletes, also to help teams provide their team with the nutritional support they deserve.”

Iwan from Nutriade commented about the reason of their decision to partner with the Wizards.

“Our decision to partner with Aberavon RFC is built around our beliefs in offering local grass root, semi pro & pro teams the opportunity of an elite nutritional product.”

Chris Davies added.

“The partnership is not just about promoting the product to our players, we aim to showcase the product to the rugby community using our brand.”

Iwan ended by saying.

It’s a massive honour to be associated with such a decorated, welsh rugby club. It’s massive exposure within the Indigo Welsh premiership means that we can gain exposure in a relevant market, with help from one of the most historically rich clubs in Wales.”
