Wizards in the Community
As a club we believe the community of Port Talbot is of paramount importance. ‘The Wizards’ are inspired by community involvement and believe that engaging positively in the community is an integral part of being a ‘Wizard’. We are proactive within the local primary and secondary schools through multiple programmes, more notable our competitive sports leagues; Tata Steel Wizards League and our Bouygues UK Wizards League. We have a dedicated community officer that delivers all elements of our school programmes and is available for much more. Our playing squad participate in the schools programmes as much as possible – as all members of the squad have full time employment commitments elsewhere. However, the players at the club are forever
giving up their time away from work and their families to be involved in the community. The Wizards are more than just a rugby club. We offer different services for the community including getting involved in reading weeks, math tutorials, healthy eating seminars and motivational talks. We can also attend award ceremonies and much more.

We can accommodate many requests to suit your requirements. Here is a list of some of the activities carried out from many of our players:
- Reading classes [showing children the importance of reading – we do not teach how to read]
- Numeracy and Literacy Workshops [using rugby as a learning tool]
- Healthy Eating Workshops – importance of eating healthy and engaging in physical activity [food groups, understanding food labels and choosing the right foods]
- Motivational speaking
- Guest Appearances at your Events
