Williams Returns

The Wizards capture the services of a Great Britain 7s International for the forthcoming season.

We are pleased to announce the signing of back-three player Morgan Williams ahead of the 23/24 season.

Williams, just 27, comes with a wealth of experience having played on the World Rugby 7s circuit for over 7 seasons, and now representing the new formed Great Britain 7s team.

Previously, Morgan has appeared for Aberavon 34 times while contacted to the Ospreys. Williams then moved on to represent Scarlets and RGC.

‘I’m hoping to put some big performances on the pitch and do my bit to help the team be successful this season,” said Williams.

Williams adds more experience to a very talented back-three at the club. With Stef Andrew, Jay Baker, Jon Phillips and Chris Banfield, Williams will certainly heat up the competition.

“Hopefully the experience I’ve gained over the last few years can add to what is an exciting back line,” added Morgan.

Wizards Head Coach Jason Hyatt commented.

“Morgan played with the Wizards as a seventeen-year old while at the Ospreys and it was obvious he was destined for an outstanding rugby career. Morgan has pace, strength and above all at only twenty-seven years of age.”

Morgan Williams finalised by saying why he wanted to return to the club.

“I’ve always wanted to return to Aberavon because I love the feel of this club.

The club is ambitious and want to be at the top end of the league. I know I’ll enjoy being on the pitch playing exciting brand of rugby.”
