Aberavon Sign Welsh International

Wizards sign 3-cap Welsh International Number 8 Dan Baker

Aberavon have captured the services of former Dragons and Ospreys player Dan Baker.

Baker previously played for Swansea, Tonmawr and Ystradgynlais. However, during his previous spell at the Ospreys, Baker did play for Aberavon (one game).

The number 8, aged 29, played for all Wales age grade teams including Wales U16, U18 and U20 – in 2013 Baker made the 32-man squad to play for Wales against Japan. He made his debut for Wales on June 8 2013 against Japan.

Jason Hyatt said.

“I coached Dan when he was seventeen and it was obvious then he was a future International.

Dan is an outstanding rugby player and more importantly he’s a great guy.

He will bring a wealth of experience, which will help us develop as a team”.

Dan Baker added.

“I’m really looking forward to sharing the dressing room and rugby pitch with mates I haven’t played with in a few years.

I’m hoping to contribute to the team improving next season and hopefully finding ourselves challenging for the title at the back end of the season.

On a personal level, regular game time and putting in consistently good performances for the team.

I’ll always give 100% for the club, my teammates and supporters. I’m really looking forward to getting started now”.
